Our chosen charity partner

At Integrity Lighting Solutions we value the positive impact that we can make within our market sector. Utilising our knowledge and contacts within the industry have allowed our business to grow and prosper and we believe that we should also use these contacts to raise awareness and funding for a chosen charity partner.

For 2023, we have chosen to work with 'Three Families Walking' which is a charity event to raise money for three charities with the aim of eliminating young suicide within the UK. You can read more about the event and fundraising aims below.

If you would like to contribute to this fantastic cause please see the below link. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will have a valuable impact on raising awareness of the crippling impact suicide in young people has on families in the UK. Thank you.

Supporting three charities with the aim of eliminating young suicide in the UK

In loving memory of Callum, Lily Mae & Jake

We are the families and friends of Callum, Lily Mae and Jake who all made the decision to take their own lives. All 3 of them were far too young and young suicide occurs far too often.

Suicide is indeed the biggest killer of under 35’s in the UK and it has a catastrophic effect on those left behind.  Our loved ones were from different parts of the UK, with different stories but the decision to end their own lives leaves families with a question that can never be answered – WHY?

Our fundraising event “Connecting on The West Highland Way” is a 96-mile trek passing by quiet lochs, impressive mountains, hills and glens. With a total ascent of 10000ft, we will complete the route over five days starting on 24th April 2023. Some of us will walk, others will run and some even cycle. It is not for the feint hearted!

The loved ones we have lost, devastatingly, did not ask for our help, they suffered in silence.  The three charities we are supporting provide hope and support for young people in need, to reflect, to talk, to begin to understand and realise that what they are considering is a "Very Permanent Solution to a Temporary Problem".

Things are never as bad as they seem and, with help and support, it will get better.  Our goal is quite simply to prevent other families going through the pain and heartache that we still endure today.

Each family has nominated their own chosen charity. All proceeds from fundraising will be split between each charity and will provide much needed support.

Our Chosen Charities -

Young Minds - Their vision is clear: To see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health. To achieve this the wait for support must end. If all young people can get the mental health support they need, when they need it, we can stop an emerging mental health need becoming a crisis. This is the purpose of Young Minds and they are absolutely clear about making it happen. You can read more about their programmes: - Never Alone, Someone to Turn to and Powerful Young voices on the attached link: - https://www.youngminds.org.uk/about-us/our-strategy/

Papyrus - quite simply exists to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives by shattering the stigma around suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress. Their core belief is no young person should have to struggle alone with thoughts of suicide. You can find out more about their campaigns, education and training on the attached link:- https://www.papyrus-uk.org/

Man Down - A Cornwall based non-profit Community Interest Company who provide informal peer-support talking groups all over Cornwall for men with mental health concerns. Their primary aim is to end the stigma and reduce the number of male suicides. Through their focus of "You are not alone" and "Let’s keep talking about it!" they offer a very informal, safe and relaxed environment for men of all ages 18+ who are struggling with any kind of mental health issues. Young Suicide affects all areas of the UK, and from all backgrounds. We have chosen these three varied and extremely worthwhile causes to make a difference – Thank you for your support.
